When going through pictures these past few weeks
this song kept running through my head.

This is the amazing Lea Slonga singing
from Evita
You Must Love Me

Enjoy this
along with bits of my memories

Where do we go from here?
This isn't where we intended to be
We had it all, you believed in me
I believed in you

Certainties disappear

What do we do for our dream to survive?
How do we keep all our passions alive,
As we used to do?

Deep in my heart I'm concealing
Things that I'm longing to say
Scared to confess what I'm feeling
Frightened you'll slip away

You must love me
You must love me

Why are you at my side?
How can I be any use to you now?
Give me a chance and I'll let you see how
Nothing has changed

You must love me

Another Saturday on St Croix

Before the days I knew of
Aperture and Shutter Speed
I thought Exposure was something I should not "over do"

I knew nothing of Wide Angle or Prime lenses.
I just laid on the floor
or stood on a chair
and clicked.
That being said
This is how I was able to capture our home in St Croix
Enjoy

Another day in paradise

From the pool

Another view

Peeking into the master

Walking out of the master for a dip in the pool

View from the guest room

I realize that I have no photos of the interior of the guest room.
I believe that when I took this series, we were in the middle of painting...
I'll search for a later time.

Some history~
Villa Madeleine was built in 1990
All 43 Villas were decorated by Carleton Varney
In July of 1991
we were honored to be on the cover of Architectural Digest

Good Books
Good Company
Good Food
Wednedsday was a wonderful day

Should I buy it or download it to my Kindle?

Some books are just special

No, we are not related...

It's very hard to add to an existing house
To make it special without overshadowing the main house

It also takes awhile to find the right art for your home
You have to feel it

Blue Dory by Anne Packard does this for me

This giclee is the first thing I see
when I look into my new office.

I feel at peace.

This is how Packard describes her work
My paintings have nothing to do with nature.
It's something to do with
forever going...
the space behind the sky...
the space behind the shadow.

It's an inner world [of] emotion and yearning.
I yearn to express solitude.
Anne Packard
Syndicated Feature Story - November 1985

'It's more of an atmosphere that I like to capture,'
Packard says.
'I do paintings that are alone,
not lonely,
that good kind of aloneness.'
Kay Longcope

The Boston Globe - September 3, 1982

I have to agree

I purchased this from an amazing gallery in Ohio
PJ was amazing to work with

Below are other works by Packard

Saturday in St. Croix

Villa Madeleine
is on the far East End of the island of St. Croix
We love it
The island
is a home away from home.
There is plenty to do,
but no pressure to do it.

Kenny loved it there

There is always a private corner to sit

Watching the St Croix Regatta
and yes, this REALLY IS the color of the water
no photo shop needed!

Bougainvillea around every corner

Our favorite beach at Grapetree

True relaxation

How can you not love being here?
I am so blessed to look at these photos
Amazing memories with Kenny I will always have
I'll come back next Saturday to show you more.
