Oh Henry!

When I walking into our little sitting room
It appeared that Henry had found a new hiding place
She was sprawled out on top of the  back of the couch
Dare I say,
much like a
C.A.T.
We are not cat people.
After all,
with four animals in the house
if they were cats,
I would surely be known
as the crazy cat lady!
I tried to sneak out
get my camera
and snap.
I was discovered.

Look at that sweet baby.
She is not yet a year.
Henry has adapted so well.
Born in California,
lived a nomadic life.
Left her sister Blue.
Lived in Colorado,
and now Rhode Island.
She is gentle
Entertains Gussy
Lets Lola be when she needs to be
She would like to play with Emma a bit more
But Emma does let her know who's top dog.

"A dog teaches a boy fidelity,
perseverance and to turn around three times before lying down."
Robert Benchley

Oh, and to find any comfortable place to sleep.

Happy Summer Everyone!

Happy Father's Day
to all the men
who have shaped our lives.

This is a different one for us.
Alexandra and Graham decided
that this would be the weekend
we would build a garden for dad.

It's almost finished.
There are a few things left to do.
I know he loves it.
But more than anything,
I know that he loved watching
Alexandra and Graham
digging, and planting
so proud of their garden.
They are their father's children

His life was gentle, and the elements
So mixed in him that nature might stand up
And say to all the world,
"This was a man!"
William Shakespeare

How blessed they are that this man is their father.
He is with them always.

I was blessed to be part of
Bob Kelleher Kids Triathlon 2012

I have included images of the day
along with words sent to Denise
from a friend
There is nothing I can add.

"Every year I try not to get overwhelmed by the emotions...
I think I can be strong.

And then every year tears start to fill my eyes as Patrick races.

The fact is I hear so much good about Bob, yet unfortunately I wasn't blessed with enough time to know him.

I look around each year at the event, see all the people who come to show support and love and an
energy that cannot be put into words.

Bob surely smiles daily looking from heaven.
Watching children complete a triathlon is even more symbolic...

kids have to face their fears
and have the strength to keep going.
No different than the life for you and Pat.
Today you crossed the finish like surrounded
with love and friends...."

Flashback Friday

I was the first grandchild
My siblings and cousins would argue
that they were practicing on me
and got better with time

Is it Mark Spitz?
No, it's my Kenny
a long, long time ago

My pumpkins
giggling
I can still hear
the beautiful sound

Where have I been, you ask?

Oh really?

You didn't ask....

I have not been reading 50 Shades of Grey

It's Tumblr
Hello, my name is Cheryl
I am an addict

Do you remember how Pinterest
took us down that dark hole of

"What?!?!"
"How could it be
that I have been pinning things for two hours?"

Do you remember that?

A virtual scrap book.
Pages and pages
Houses I love
Words I love
Art I love
Things I love

You know
I know you do

Tumblr
Pinterest on steroids

Take all of those images you fell in love with.
The ones you pinned.
Now, put them on a giant collage.
A giant collage of beautiful things.

AT YOUR OWN RISK

Bye now
"See you maybe"

Seeing Sunday

If you look the right way,
you can see that the whole world is a garden.

The Secret Garden
Frances Hodgson Burnett

It was a wonderland

I could have been in Wonderland with Alice

Instead, I was with my friend Judith,
at Sakonnet Gardens

I have lived in Little Compton for almost 30 years

I didn't know this was here

What a joy

Flashback Friday

June
It's almost beach time!

I learned to love the beach
at a very early age.

So did Alexandra!

It has been said that people photograph better from the left side.....

I must have known at a very early age.

Yes, I was a cheerleader.
I still am.
